Intra-abdominal Masses in Infants and Children

Abstract

|
A statistical study, made in 40 cases complaining of abdominal masses who were admitted to the Department of Surgery and Pediatrics for five years and six months from January 1962 to June 1967, was resented here.
1) Fifty per cents (20 cases) were confronted under the age of one. The ratio of male to female was 3 : 1.
2) The ratio of malignant tumors to benign masses was 1 : 4. The most frequent malignant and benign tumors were Wilms´ tumor and intussusception respectively.
3) The size of masses was various from adult-tumb size to child-head size.
